About

Our Story

Since 2000

Bringing creative visions to life has always been Steven Spelman’s driving passion.  From his days apprecticing as a landscape painter and tombstone engraver, he refined his education at the Atlanta College of Art, where he focused on sculpture and painting.  This was further enriched by conceptual and studio courses at the Burren College of Art in Ireland. Graduating in 2005, Steven initially honed his skills through design and fabricating with Danforth Pewter.  Where he worked as a product designer, creating 3d designs and bringing them to life through CNC and engraving machines.  These would be molded, cast, and sent to clients worldwide.

Starting in 2000, Steven’s journey as Creative Director at Wildwood Studio marked the beginning of his deep dive into translating imagination into tangible forms. His talent and dedication soon made him a highly sought-after prop designer and fabricator for films like *Neighborhood Watch* and various theater performances across Atlanta. Joining the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) in 2010, Steven brought his unique combination of artistic skill and technical expertise to create stunning custom props for stuntwork, heropieces, costumes, and set decoration.

In 2011, Steven took a significant step by launching his own company, blending cutting-edge digital tools such as 3D printing and scanning with traditional artistic methods. This venture has allowed him to create enchanting cabinets of curiosities, prototypes, and artwork. Even now, his passion for creation remains unyielding; often working through the night inspired to sculpt, paint, or design, driven by the joyof transforming ideas into physical reality.

Our Mission

At Spelman Arts, our mission is to transform imagination into reality. We believe that everyone has creative ideas and visions of designs that could enhance their lives. However, bringing these concepts to life often requires artistic skill, specialized equipment, time, and resources that most people don’t have readily available.

Our founder, Steven Spelman, established Spelman Arts driven by his lifelong passion for creating artwork and functional objects. His goal was to help others experience the same joy of seeing their ideas come to life, whether for practical use or decorative purposes.

We combine artistic expertise—from fine arts, painting, and sculpture—with cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and 3D scanning. This blend of creativity and innovation enables us to take your designs, replicas, artwork reproductions, props, and specialty items from concept to completion. We guide you through every stage of product development and manufacturing to produce beautifully crafted pieces.

At our core, we are dedicated to making the intangible tangible. We bridge the gap between dreaming ideas and holding them in your hands. Our ultimate success is reflected in the smile on our customers’ faces when they first experience their creations, realizing their visions have become a delightful reality.
